Christina Vanden Bosch der Nederlanden

We would like to welcome Dr. Christina Vanden Bosch der Nederlanden (Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, University of Toronto Mississauga) to the CPIN Program.

Dr. Vanden Bosch der Nederlanden is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto Mississauga and Director of the Language, Attention, Music and Audition (LAMA) Lab. Christina uses EEG, MEG, and fMRI to examine neural processing of music and language from infancy to adulthood. Her interests are firmly rooted in the perceptual, cognitive, and neural foundations of human communication in development, with a particular emphasis on how we learn the rules that are unique to music and language communication from infancy through adulthood. She explores how we attend to speech and song in real-world auditory environments where many different sounds compete for our attention. Her work has applications in the development of training techniques that can help improve speech processing in individuals who struggle with language, such as children with dyslexia or autism.
