FAQs

I recently attended a lecture as part of the Distinguished Lectureship Series. How do I report my attendance so it counts towards my CPIN requirements?

Please submit the CSIN Lecture Report & Evaluation Form as a record of your attendance at the Distinguished Lectureship Series within one week of attending the talk.

What neuroscience courses are being offered? Where can I find a course list?

The complete list of neuroscience courses offered by the participating units which fulfill the Collaborative Specialization requirements can be found on the SGS Collaborative Specialization website. Please note that not all courses will be offered each year. Visit the Graduate Courses page for more details.

If you have questions about a specific course, the home department has authority on the courses they offer and how to register. Please contact the appropriate department for questions for availability and enrolment information, and to confirm course times/locations.

I received an e-mail from CPIN about an upcoming event. Will I receive a credit towards my CPIN requirements if I attend these events?

These events are distributed to the CPIN mailing list based on interest, and will not count towards meeting CPIN requirements. If you know of an event that might be of interest to CPIN members, please contact us at p.neuroscience@utoronto.ca for distribution of event details.

I am planning on attending a neuroscience seminar outside of the CPIN Distinguished Lectureship series. Will my attendance count towards my CPIN requirements?

In exceptional circumstances, prior permission from the CPIN Director is required for attending neuroscience seminars other than the CPIN Distinguished Lectureship Series in order to fulfill CPIN trainee requirements.

How do I indicate that I have completed my CPIN requirements?

Please submit the CSIN Student Completion Form as soon as you have defended your thesis.

I completed NEU1000/NEU2000. When can I expect to see the credit on Acorn?

You will see the "CR" designation for the NEU1000/NEU2000 course only in the very last semester of your program, according to SGS guidelines.
