We would like to welcome Dr. Timothy Welsh (Full Professor, Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education, University of Toronto) to the CPIN Program.
The objective of Dr. Welsh's research is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the cognitive and neural mechanisms that underlie the goal-directed actions of people from average and special populations. Over the last decade, his interest has shifted from how individuals act alone to how individuals in groups coordinate their actions to achieve common goals (joint action). Welsh has over 140 publications and his academic achievements have been recognized with several research and graduate teaching awards, including the Franklin Henry Young Scientist Award from the Canadian Society for Psychomotor Learning and Sport Psychology, Early Distinguished Career Award from the North American Society for the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity, and Outstanding Graduate Supervision Award from the University of Calgary.
