Welcome Dr. Mahavir Agarwal

We would like to welcome Dr. Mahavir Agarwal (Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry; Clinician-Scientist, Medical Head for Clinical Research, Schizophrenia Division, co-lead of the Metabolic Clinic and the Clozapine Clinic, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health), as a new faculty member to the CPIN community. 

Dr. Agarwal’s research interest lies in understanding the mechanisms underlying metabolic and cognitive dysfunction in severe mental illness with specific focus on insulin signalling in the brain, and in discovering new treatments for these abnormalities. His research program has been funded by generous support from several federal and provincial agencies including the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), PSI Foundation, and the University of Toronto.
