We would like to welcome Dr. Amy Boyle (Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology, University of Toronto), to the CPIN Program. Dr. Boyle is a prinipal investigator at CAMH specializing in PET imaging and radiopharmaceuticals. Her research focuses on identifying biomarkers that are common to oncology and neuroinflammatory/neurodegenerative diseases through PET imaging. In recent work she studied the neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative biomarkers cyclooxygenases-1 and -1, and glycogen synthase kinase-3 in preclinical models of oncology. She is currently focused on PET imaging of neuroinflammation for early diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. The overall goal of Dr. Boyle’s work is to hasten the development of effective PET imaging agents for oncology by learning from neuroinflammation, and vice versa.
