Liv Ansley-Engel

Liv is a second year PhD student in the Department of Psychology and Collaborative Program In Neuroscience working in Robert Rozeske’s lab. Her work focuses on uncovering the neural mechanisms of fear and anxiety behaviours through a multidisciplinary approach, including rodent behaviour models and in vivo neuronal activity recording, with a specific focus on dopaminergic signaling in the medial prefrontal cortex. Liv plans to investigate the differences in context fear learning behaviour in male and female mice as well as differences in neural signaling. This work aims to understand the neuronal circuits that govern emotional behaviour with the hope of informing novel and individualized therapeutics to treat those living with anxiety related disorders.
