Sex & Gender Differences Competitive Fellowship Awardee
Eman Nishat is a PhD candidate in the Department of Physiology and Collaborative Program in Neuroscience, under the supervision of Dr. Anne Wheeler and Dr. Stephanie Ameis. She completed her Honours BSc and MSc at the University of Toronto. Her work uses advanced neuroimaging techniques to investigate the interplay between sex, gender, concussion, white matter development, behavioural outcomes, and cognition. Eman aims to shed light on the complex factors that contribute to long-lasting symptoms in youth following concussions. Ultimately, this work can guide the development of targeted therapeutic interventions and rehabilitation programs for improved care and outcomes for youth facing these challenges.
