Congratulations to CPIN student member Hanista Premachandran (Psychology, supervised by Dr. Maithe Arruda-Carvalho) on completing the CPIN requirements and graduating from her PhD program. Hanista Premachandran completed her doctorate at UofT in the Department of Psychology (Behavioral Neuroscience stream) in the DevSneuro Lab (under the supervision of Dr. Maithe Arruda-Carvalho). Her thesis investigated infantile amnesia, or the inability of infants to recall early-life memories. Specifically, she examined the role of the prefrontal–amygdala circuit in developmental fear conditioning. Her research also explored the effects of early-life stress and individual differences on developmental fear learning and the recruitment of prefrontal-amygdala circuitry.
