Congratulations to CPIN Faculty member Dr. Chao Zheng and his research team on their new publication in PNAS. Their article, “SV2A PET reveals synaptic density loss in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis and in a pilot multiple sclerosis study,” reports a translational imaging study using clinically validated SV2A PET tracers to examine synaptic density loss in multiple sclerosis, spanning a mouse model of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) and a pilot human MS cohort. This study was carried out through a collaborative effort involving researchers at CAMH and the University of Toronto, together with external collaborators at Yale University.
